In honor of National Nutrition Month, here is a 3 step guide to drink your way towards better nutrition. Cheers to your health!
1. Drink Water
Don't be confused on all the different diets out there, it's easy to forget the #1 most important thing your body needs for a balanced and healthy diet. We've all heard of the 8 glasses of water rule. Though there is little science backing this up, there are lots of reasons to stay hydrated. New research shows a new type of water-deprivation caused headaches. And many studies have shown that mild dehydration can negatively affect mood, memory, and brain performance. So, the next time you get hangry (hungry-angry) try drinking a glass of water instead, it might just be what your body actually needs.
2. Snack Smart
There's no shame in getting the munchies. To make a simple switch from unhealthy snacking habits to snacking smarter, think soups. At first soups may seem unfulfilling, unsubstantial, and even a hassle to prep, but consider this- soup is largely water, which means it will fill you up with good nutrients without carrying tons of calories like chips and chocolates. A large pot of soup prepared over the weekend can be portion-sized for the week and even frozen to be stored for extended periods of time. When time is limited, fresh prepared packaged soups such as our Tomato Soup or Carrot Ginger Soup can be easily heated up for a fresh and nourishing snack. With both sweet and savory soups available, any cravings can be satisfied with a simple and delicious soup.
3. Broth Beverages
Bone broth is all the rage for good reason. Bone broth has its roots all the way back to ancient times when food is not as abundant as today and all parts of the animal were be used. The bones were boiled for long hours to extract all the marrow and nutrition in the broth. Throughout history, many different cultures embraced their own versions of bone broths as an integral part of their diet. Now, bone broth has become the nourishing drink to sip on on a cold day or to settle your stomach with all natural, healthy nutrition that also tastes good.
